About the Blackmagic PCB

Blackmagic is an open source STM32 PCB design by aeremin, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 49 × 40 mm, with 55 components from 25 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F411CEUX, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the USBLC6-2P6, AP2112K-3.3TRG1 and TXS0108ERGYR. By type, the board carries 21 capacitors, 13 resistors, 5 LEDs, 4 ICs, 3 switches and 2 transistors.

It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

This repo contains sources to build following firmware images:

Both of the services can be used by dedicated Android app. App sources are here. Battery measurement. Will continously monitor battery voltage and Report it via bluetooth - see above. * Will disable radio and LED (will keep Bluetooth enabled) if battery level is low.

Blackmagic: common questions

What microcontroller does the Blackmagic use?

The Blackmagic is built around the STM32F411CEUX, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Blackmagic PCB?

The Blackmagic measures 49 × 40 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Blackmagic?

55 components, from 25 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Blackmagic design files?

From the aeremin/firefly_zephyr repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Blackmagic design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with aeremin. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Blackmagic without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
