About the Cordyceps PCB

Cordyceps is an open source Nordic nRF PCB design by aeremin, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 22.1 × 29.9 mm, with 32 components from 23 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the NRF52833-QDXX, from the Nordic nRF family. By type, the board carries 13 capacitors, 5 resistors, 3 connectors, 2 transistors, 2 crystals and 2 inductors.

It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

Cordyceps: common questions

What microcontroller does the Cordyceps use?

The Cordyceps is built around the NRF52833-QDXX, from the Nordic nRF family.

How big is the Cordyceps PCB?

The Cordyceps measures 22.1 × 29.9 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Cordyceps?

32 components, from 23 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Cordyceps design files?

From the aeremin/firefly_zephyr repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Cordyceps design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with aeremin. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Cordyceps without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Nordic nRF firmware against it before you order a PCB.
