About the Rota Pi PCB
Rota Pi is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by AmmarSyamil, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 90 × 94 mm, with 16 components from 6 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the RaspberryPi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 11 switches and 1 module.
It belongs with the displays & leds and sensors designs in this gallery.
From the project
A custom built sim race steering wheels powered by a Rasp Pico.
ROTAPi is a custom built sim race steering wheel powered by a Raspberry Pi Pico**, designed for usability and ease of setup. It features all peripheral that is needed in sim racing (DRS, ADS, change gears, POV shift, and much more) and the additional paddle behind the wheel for both the throttle and braking without the need of external pads for it.
This project combines embedded hardware, custom 3D design, and custom styling all built from the ground up using custom PCBs, sensors system, and a 3D-printed enclosure modeled in FreeCAD. I also plan to add BMW M series badge at the middle of the…

Rota Pi: common questions
What microcontroller does the Rota Pi use?
The Rota Pi is built around the RaspberryPi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.
How big is the Rota Pi PCB?
The Rota Pi measures 90 × 94 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Rota Pi?
16 components, from 6 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Rota Pi design files?
From the AmmarSyamil/Rota_Pi repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Rota Pi design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with AmmarSyamil. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Rota Pi without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
