About the EE344 Electronic Design lab PCB

EE344 Electronic Design lab is an open source ESP32 PCB design by Amolpagare10, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 153.2 × 122.3 mm, with 108 components from 31 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-WROOM-32DM113DH6400PH3Q0, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the 23LCV04M-I/ST, DAC7821IPWR, MAX1426EAI+, HV232FG-G and TMUX8108PWR. By type, the board carries 35 capacitors, 33 connectors, 19 resistors, 8 ICs, 8 diodes and 5 inductors.

From the project

EcoSync 8X - A dsPIC33A microcontroller based ultrasonic guided wave structural health monitoring system

- Our SMD INA on the PCB was not working. We replaced it with another SMD INA, but it still didn't work. Since we didn’t have any more SMD INAs, we used a DIP INA on a breadboard and connected it to the PCB — and it started working.

- In the ADC, we grounded the CMLP pin (pin 11), as the datasheet mentioned that for DC coupling, it should be grounded. However, during breadboard testing, we found that it worked when connected to 5V instead.

EE344 Electronic Design lab: common questions

What microcontroller does the EE344 Electronic Design lab use?

The EE344 Electronic Design lab is built around the ESP32-WROOM-32DM113DH6400PH3Q0, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the EE344 Electronic Design lab PCB?

The EE344 Electronic Design lab measures 153.2 × 122.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the EE344 Electronic Design lab?

108 components, from 31 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the EE344 Electronic Design lab design files?

From the Amolpagare10/EE344_Electronic_Design_lab repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the EE344 Electronic Design lab design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Amolpagare10. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the EE344 Electronic Design lab without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
