About the ASTRADEV PCB
ASTRADEV is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by anbu2203, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 21.1 × 51.4 mm, with 33 components from 16 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the MCP1700X-330XXTT and W25Q16JVSS. By type, the board carries 17 capacitors, 7 resistors, 4 connectors, 3 ICs, 1 crystal and 1 switch.
It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.
From the project
AstraDev is a basic development board engineered for modern computing and embedded innovation. Designed for flexibility, scalability, and reliability, it enables students, makers, and developers to prototype, learn, and build applications with ease.
- PCB layout was completed using KiCad PCB Editor - A 2-layer PCB was used: Top layer (F.Cu) Bottom layer (B.Cu)
- KiCad’s 3D Viewer was used to visually inspect the PCB Component orientation, alignment, and placement were verified
All production files were organized into a single production folder and compressed into a ZIP archive .png) .png)
- The production ZIP was uploaded to JLCPCB PCB Assembly (PCBA) option was enabled ENIG surface finish was selected for reliable soldering and flat pads

ASTRADEV: common questions
What microcontroller does the ASTRADEV use?
The ASTRADEV is built around the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.
How big is the ASTRADEV PCB?
The ASTRADEV measures 21.1 × 51.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the ASTRADEV?
33 components, from 16 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the ASTRADEV design files?
From the anbu2203/ASTRADEV repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the ASTRADEV design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with anbu2203. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the ASTRADEV without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
