- January 2022: Check out the Arduino Team's Blog Post covering this project!*

Using an approach of Embedded Machine Learning, we built a multi-tenant architecture to facilitate a contactless elevator system. It consists of two parts – person detection and speech recognition. To create an effective pipeline, we used multiple signal processing techniques to extract necessary features from the input signals. Further, we developed a fire safety system using basic yet functional sensors in two methods – using a microcontroller and using an…

SmartElevatorSystem: common questions

What microcontroller does the SmartElevatorSystem use?

The SmartElevatorSystem is built around the L Arduino Mount, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the SmartElevatorSystem PCB?

The SmartElevatorSystem measures 52.1 × 107.8 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the SmartElevatorSystem?

24 components, from 17 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the SmartElevatorSystem design files?

From the anwaypimpalkar/smartElevatorSystem repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the SmartElevatorSystem design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with anwaypimpalkar. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the SmartElevatorSystem without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
