About the Stardance-Hackpad PCB

Stardance-Hackpad is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by Anycircle11139s, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 76.9 × 99.3 mm, with 27 components from 5 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the MOUDLE-SEEEDUINO-XIAO, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 13 switches, 12 diodes, 1 IC and 1 connector.

It belongs with the keyboards and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

I created a custom macropad with 12 keys, an OLED screen, and a rotary encoder. I built it because I wanted to get into Stardance and see how it works, and a hackpad is the perfect way to do that. I designed a custom, sleek case to fit around the PCB, and learned about different types of fillets, like tangent (G1) and curvature (G2). Building this taught me a lot about product design.

Stardance-Hackpad: common questions

What microcontroller does the Stardance-Hackpad use?

The Stardance-Hackpad is built around the MOUDLE-SEEEDUINO-XIAO, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Stardance-Hackpad PCB?

The Stardance-Hackpad measures 76.9 × 99.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Stardance-Hackpad?

27 components, from 5 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Stardance-Hackpad design files?

From the Anycircle11139s/Stardance-Hackpad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Stardance-Hackpad design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which Anycircle11139s chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Stardance-Hackpad without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
