About the SpotifyDisplay PCB

SpotifyDisplay is an open source ESP32 PCB design by ArxDraco007, published on GitHub. It is a board, with 3 components from 3 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-S3, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the ST7735. By type, the board carries 2 ICs and 1 switch.

It belongs with the iot & wireless and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

Recreating the overexpensive spotify display.

1. Install the Arduino IDE and add ESP32 board support (Boards Manager). 2. Install the TFT_eSPI library via the Library Manager. 3. Open esp32spotify.cpp and edit the following lines with your own details:

4. Select your board ESP32S3 Dev Module and then upload with the right COM port.

The Python script pc_connect.py runs a small Flask server on your PC that listens for commands from the ESP32 and translates them into media key presses.

SpotifyDisplay: common questions

What microcontroller does the SpotifyDisplay use?

The SpotifyDisplay is built around the ESP32-S3, from the ESP32 family.

How many components are on the SpotifyDisplay?

3 components, from 3 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the SpotifyDisplay design files?

From the ArxDraco007/SpotifyDisplay repository on GitHub, which has the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the SpotifyDisplay design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with ArxDraco007. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the SpotifyDisplay without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
