About the Reworkctf PCB

Reworkctf is an open source STM32 PCB design by azonenberg, published on GitHub under the BSD-3-Clause license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 54 × 50 mm, with 125 components from 25 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32H750XBH6, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the ECS-1612MV-250-CN, W25Q80BV and ZLDO1117-33. By type, the board carries 53 resistors, 33 capacitors, 17 connectors, 16 diodes, 4 ICs and 1 fuse.

From the project

This is a points-based challenge board intended for practicing of PCB rework and circuit editing skills. This is not a circuit debug challenge. The defect for each stage is well documented, your task is to correct it so that the circuit functions properly.

This is also not a learn-to-solder kit. If you're not comfortable populating boards with 0402 passives and larger pitch (0.8mm) BGAs, this is probably not a project you want to undertake until you have the basics down first.

Reworkctf: common questions

What microcontroller does the Reworkctf use?

The Reworkctf is built around the STM32H750XBH6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Reworkctf PCB?

The Reworkctf measures 54 × 50 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Reworkctf?

125 components, from 25 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Reworkctf design files?

From the azonenberg/reworkctf repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Reworkctf design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its BSD-3-Clause license, which azonenberg chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Reworkctf without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
