About the Pcb pi onoff

Pcb pi onoff is an open source PIC PCB design by bablokb, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-SA-4.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 65 × 30 mm, with 29 components from 23 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the PIC12F1840, from the PIC family. Other key parts include the TSOP4838 and DS3231M. By type, the board carries 10 connectors, 9 resistors, 4 capacitors, 3 ICs, 2 diodes and 1 transistor.

It belongs with the power & battery designs in this gallery.

A power-control pHat for the Pi

This project contains the KiCAD-project-files for a small power-control pHat. A PIC-MCU controls the power for the Pi. On/off is via a push-button or an IR-remote. Before cutting current, the PIC sends a shutdown request to the Pi. Once done, the Pi signals shutdown-complete to the PIC which in turn cuts power.

- production: OK - basic firmware: tested - basic functional test: open - test with RTC: open - IR firmware: open - IR test: open

Pcb pi onoff: common questions

What microcontroller does the Pcb pi onoff use?

The Pcb pi onoff is built around the PIC12F1840, from the PIC family.

How big is the Pcb pi onoff?

The Pcb pi onoff measures 65 × 30 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Pcb pi onoff?

29 components, from 23 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Pcb pi onoff design files?

From the bablokb/pcb-pi-onoff repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Pcb pi onoff design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CC-BY-SA-4.0 license, which bablokb chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Pcb pi onoff without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug PIC firmware against it before you order a PCB.
