About the Kids control panel PCB

Kids control panel is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by bitsandpixels-io, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 68 × 65 mm, with 4 components from 4 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Arduino_UNO_R3, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the CA56-12SURKWA, MCP23017_SP Expander Module and TFT LCD. By type, the board carries 3 ICs and 1 module.

It belongs with the displays & leds designs in this gallery.

Kids control panel: common questions

What microcontroller does the Kids control panel use?

The Kids control panel is built around the Arduino_UNO_R3, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Kids control panel PCB?

The Kids control panel measures 68 × 65 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Kids control panel?

4 components, from 4 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Kids control panel design files?

From the bitsandpixels-io/kids-control-panel repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Kids control panel design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which bitsandpixels-io chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Kids control panel without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
