8 MIDI controlled loops switcher PCBs

The MLS800 is an open-source 1U rack unit MIDI controlled Loop Switcher with 8 audio loops.

8 independent audio loops 128 presets Active preset is remotly controlled through MIDI Program Change messages Easy to read through a 4 digits 7 segments display and 9 illuminated switches

This repository contains KiCad files needed to produce the two PCBs.

See the documentation for futher info on the project.

Mls800: common questions

What microcontroller does the Mls800 use?

The Mls800 is built around the ATmega32U4-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Mls800 PCB?

The Mls800 measures 293.4 × 80.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Mls800?

92 components, from 36 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Mls800 design files?

From the blemasle/mls800-pcb repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Mls800 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which blemasle chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Mls800 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
