About the Temperature PCB

Temperature is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by boanjo, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 45.4 × 89.9 mm, with 30 components from 25 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATmega328P-A, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the MCP1700x-330xxTT and RFM95W-868S2. By type, the board carries 9 capacitors, 4 resistors, 3 ICs, 3 test points, 2 transistors and 2 connectors.

It belongs with the rf & radio and sensors designs in this gallery.

A collection of mysensors nodes, gateways and HW from my home

The weather station is connecting 3 different sensors with water protected connections and casing. I've used a Adafruit PermaProto 1/2 sized board which works well here since it's mainly soldering of connectors we need to do and a few resistors.

The focus for this model is to protect the GX12 connections and the PCB but this with easy access. The box has plenty of room for the homemade 433MHz antenna: http://www.byvac.com/downloads/RLnn/How-to-make-a-Air-Cooled-433MHz-antenna.pdf.

Temperature: common questions

What microcontroller does the Temperature use?

The Temperature is built around the ATmega328P-A, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Temperature PCB?

The Temperature measures 45.4 × 89.9 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Temperature?

30 components, from 25 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Temperature design files?

From the boanjo/myhome repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Temperature design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with boanjo. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Temperature without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
