About the Ws 3.0 PCB

Ws 3.0 is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by boanjo, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 72.7 × 114 mm, with 53 components from 38 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATmega328P-A, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the LF33_TO220, ATtiny85V-10S, XC6206PxxxMR and RFM95W-868S2. By type, the board carries 14 resistors, 12 capacitors, 7 connectors, 5 ICs, 4 diodes and 3 switches.

It belongs with the rf & radio designs in this gallery.

From the project

A collection of mysensors nodes, gateways and HW from my home

I use a mix of NRF (2.4GHz) and RFM69 (433MHz) depending on the usage of the sensor. For longer distances i use RFM69 but they are a bit more power hungry so they all fill a purpose

Ws 3.0: common questions

What microcontroller does the Ws 3.0 use?

The Ws 3.0 is built around the ATmega328P-A, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Ws 3.0 PCB?

The Ws 3.0 measures 72.7 × 114 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Ws 3.0?

53 components, from 38 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Ws 3.0 design files?

From the boanjo/myhome repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Ws 3.0 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with boanjo. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Ws 3.0 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
