About the Gps gsm prj PCB

Gps gsm prj is an open source Raspberry Pi PCB design by bog739, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 108.4 × 53.3 mm, with 16 components from 11 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the SC0915, from the Raspberry Pi family. Other key parts include the LD1117S33TR_SOT223, Pmod_GPS and GSM_module. By type, the board carries 5 capacitors, 3 ICs, 3 diodes, 3 resistors, 1 module and 1 connector.

It belongs with the rf & radio designs in this gallery.

From the project

Tracker project

-> machine module is for generic board in contrast with pyb lib

-> This project was started with gps and gsm modules on a simple plastic board with attached cables for TTL conversion for USB and Pycharm was used to link up with devices.

-> In meantime the development of this project started on Pi pico, and Thonny IDE is used afterwards, MicroPython plugin for Pycharm is not so great. Although, Thonny IDE needs some improvement for USB communication, but for this issue a reset button was attached for Pi pico to re-enable the communication.

Gps gsm prj: common questions

What microcontroller does the Gps gsm prj use?

The Gps gsm prj is built around the SC0915, from the Raspberry Pi family.

How big is the Gps gsm prj PCB?

The Gps gsm prj measures 108.4 × 53.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Gps gsm prj?

16 components, from 11 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Gps gsm prj design files?

From the bog739/gps_gsm_prj repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Gps gsm prj design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with bog739. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Gps gsm prj without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Raspberry Pi firmware against it before you order a PCB.
