About the CanTactDist PCB
CanTactDist is an open source STM32 PCB design by bondus, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 37 × 15 mm, with 29 components from 21 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the TPS54331DR, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the TMC2209-LA, USBLC6-2SC6 and SN65HVD230. By type, the board carries 9 capacitors, 9 resistors, 4 ICs, 4 diodes and 3 connectors.
It belongs with the robotics & motion designs in this gallery.
From the project
A 3D printer tool head controller board
Features: CAN bus. One TMC2209 stepper driver for the extruder Two MOSFETs for fans One big MOSFET for the hotend heater Thermistor input Support for an endstop (or filament runout sensnor) STM32F103 72Mhz 32bit ARM MCU USB, for flashing firmware
Main power is 12-24V. 24V is preferred to keep the currents low

CanTactDist: common questions
What microcontroller does the CanTactDist use?
The CanTactDist is built around the TPS54331DR, from the STM32 family.
How big is the CanTactDist PCB?
The CanTactDist measures 37 × 15 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the CanTactDist?
29 components, from 21 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the CanTactDist design files?
From the bondus/KlipperToolboard repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the CanTactDist design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which bondus chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the CanTactDist without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
