About the Testboard PCB

Testboard is an open source Raspberry Pi PCB design by bradshjg, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 136 × 98 mm, with 48 components from 26 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Raspberry_Pi_2_3, from the Raspberry Pi family. Other key parts include the 74HC137, SN74CBTLV3125, cue and ULN2002. By type, the board carries 21 test points, 14 ICs, 9 resistors, 3 diodes and 1 connector.

From the project

Unsynced mirror of https://sourceforge.net/projects/tom7misc/ (I think that's called a backup)...but it's git now :-)

This is code (experimental, obviously) for several weird block devices ("hard drives"). See the video and paper at tom7.org/harder for an introduction.

Note this whole thing is super insecure, for many reasons! Don't run it on a system you care about!

- unix domain socket has the wrong permissions

Compiling is something like this (from memory): - Get nbdkit (source) and compile it (in ../../nbdkit). - Install nbd-client too

Testboard: common questions

What microcontroller does the Testboard use?

The Testboard is built around the Raspberry_Pi_2_3, from the Raspberry Pi family.

How big is the Testboard PCB?

The Testboard measures 136 × 98 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Testboard?

48 components, from 26 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Testboard design files?

From the bradshjg/tom7-misc-backup repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Testboard design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with bradshjg. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Testboard without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Raspberry Pi firmware against it before you order a PCB.
