About the Stradex1 PCB

Stradex1 is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by Bylin-code, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 192.1 × 126.9 mm, with 24 components from 7 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RaspberryPi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the ADS1115IDGS. By type, the board carries 13 resistors, 4 switches, 2 ICs and 1 module.

STRADEX1 Documentation and Build Instructions ============== I've always wanted to put my violin skills to use in a MIDI environment, but there really isn't a controller on the market that can emulate the feel of a violin to the extent that Stradex does.

STRADEX1 Documentation and Build Instructions ============== I've always wanted to put my violin skills to use in a MIDI environment, but there really isn't a controller on the market that can emulate the feel of a violin to the extent that Stradex does.

Stradex features a SoftPot linear resistor to emulate the violin's fingerboard, four custom force-sensitive keys to emulate the strings, and three potentiometers for range & modulation control. This setup allows Stradex to generate pitch bends, vibrato, dynamic expression, and incredible range, all while remaining intuitive for the average…

Stradex1: common questions

What microcontroller does the Stradex1 use?

The Stradex1 is built around the RaspberryPi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Stradex1 PCB?

The Stradex1 measures 192.1 × 126.9 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Stradex1?

24 components, from 7 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Stradex1 design files?

From the Bylin-code/Stradex1 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Stradex1 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Bylin-code. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Stradex1 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
