About the CALEBS-HACKPAD PCB

CALEBS-HACKPAD is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by calebnelson712-dot, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 62.4 × 82.1 mm, with 11 components from 3 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 9 switches, 1 IC and 1 connector.

It belongs with the displays & leds and keyboards designs in this gallery.

This repository contains all files for my AMD x HackClub Macropad project. The macropad is designed for computer shortcuts, python programming, and game controlling.

It features: - 3x3 mechanical keys - 0.91" OLED display - Powered by a Seeed XIAO RP2040 microcontroller

This is the overview of my hackpad assembled in Fusion 360 which shows how it should be all put together

CALEBS-HACKPAD: common questions

What microcontroller does the CALEBS-HACKPAD use?

The CALEBS-HACKPAD is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the CALEBS-HACKPAD PCB?

The CALEBS-HACKPAD measures 62.4 × 82.1 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the CALEBS-HACKPAD?

11 components, from 3 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the CALEBS-HACKPAD design files?

From the calebnelson712-dot/CALEBS-HACKPAD repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the CALEBS-HACKPAD design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with calebnelson712-dot. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the CALEBS-HACKPAD without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
