About the Under-Pressure PCB
Under-Pressure is an open source PCB design by catalinacatalinacatalina, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 74 × 44.5 mm, with 30 components from 18 distinct parts.
Other key parts include the TL072. By type, the board carries 12 capacitors, 10 resistors, 2 ICs, 2 connectors, 2 diodes and 1 battery holder.
It belongs with the audio and dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.
From the project
DIY analog overdrive pedal inspired by a Wampler design. First prototyped on breadboard and later transferred to PCB using KiCad.
A complete documentation of designing and building an analog distortion pedal for electric guitars, based on Brian Wampler's minimal parts-count circuit design.
Under Pressure is named after the iconic 1981 song by David Bowie & Queen. The name captures the essence of what a distortion pedal does: it takes the natural dynamics of a guitar signal and compresses it under intense pressure, forcing it through clipping stages that create the characteristic aggressive and driven tone.
