About the AVR-Controller-Board

AVR-Controller-Board is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by Chaitanya-cloud-mac, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 87.5 × 84.5 mm, with 27 components from 20 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATmega328-P, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the ULN2803A and L7805. By type, the board carries 6 connectors, 6 capacitors, 4 resistors, 3 ICs, 2 switches and 2 diodes.

It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

From the project

An open-source KiCad hardware project for a custom AVR-based microcontroller development board. Features onboard 5V power regulation, high-current driving capabilities, ICSP programming, and basic I/O peripherals for general-purpose prototyping.

A custom AVR-based microcontroller development board designed for general-purpose interfacing, prototyping, and hardware control. This board features onboard power regulation, an ICSP programming interface, basic built-in I/O (LED, buzzer, tactile switch), and modular pin headers for easy expansion and integration with external peripherals.

This repository contains the complete open-source hardware design files required to view, modify, and manufacture this custom PCB.

AVR-Controller-Board: common questions

What microcontroller does the AVR-Controller-Board use?

The AVR-Controller-Board is built around the ATmega328-P, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the AVR-Controller-Board?

The AVR-Controller-Board measures 87.5 × 84.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the AVR-Controller-Board?

27 components, from 20 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the AVR-Controller-Board design files?

From the Chaitanya-cloud-mac/AVR-Controller-Board repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the AVR-Controller-Board design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Chaitanya-cloud-mac. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the AVR-Controller-Board without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
