About the Meridian-W104 PCB

Meridian-W104 is an open source Nordic nRF PCB design by charancs926-png, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 458.2 × 164 mm, with 250 components from 24 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO nRF52840, from the Nordic nRF family. Other key parts include the SN74HC595D and SN74HC165D. By type, the board carries 106 switches, 104 diodes, 26 resistors, 5 ICs, 5 capacitors and 3 LEDs.

It belongs with the keyboards, iot & wireless and rf & radio designs in this gallery.

From the project

A Keyboard named Meridian W104

Meridian W104 is my custom full size 104-key wireless mechanical keyboard, built around a Seeed XIAO nRF52840 non-Plus.

so basically i wanted a full size board with a proper number pad that could run over bluetooth, but still use usb-c when needed. the project brings together the key matrix, diodes, serial scan logic, battery connection and a slim rounded case. the hardware is in KiCad and the case source is in Fusion 360, with the files needed to make a first prototype included here.

Meridian-W104: common questions

What microcontroller does the Meridian-W104 use?

The Meridian-W104 is built around the XIAO nRF52840, from the Nordic nRF family.

How big is the Meridian-W104 PCB?

The Meridian-W104 measures 458.2 × 164 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Meridian-W104?

250 components, from 24 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Meridian-W104 design files?

From the charancs926-png/Meridian-W104 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Meridian-W104 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with charancs926-png. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Meridian-W104 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Nordic nRF firmware against it before you order a PCB.
