About the WLED-BOX PCB

WLED-BOX is an open source ESP32 PCB design by Choccy-vr, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 23 × 50.5 mm, with 6 components from 6 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-ESP32-C3-DIP, from the ESP32 family. By type, the board carries 2 connectors, 2 resistors, 1 IC and 1 capacitor.

A easy compact WLED controller.

I made this because most WLED Controllers out there are very overkill for most home users' use cases or way too expensive. This WLED Controller provides an easy and simple way to control your WLED Lights while giving you a nice, clean, and smooth experience. ## Images

WLED-BOX: common questions

What microcontroller does the WLED-BOX use?

The WLED-BOX is built around the XIAO-ESP32-C3-DIP, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the WLED-BOX PCB?

The WLED-BOX measures 23 × 50.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the WLED-BOX?

6 components, from 6 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the WLED-BOX design files?

From the Choccy-vr/WLED-BOX repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the WLED-BOX design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Choccy-vr. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the WLED-BOX without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
