About the Jzspad PCB

Jzspad is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by CODE-OXYY, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 98.2 × 74.2 mm, with 33 components from 5 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the OLED_0.91_128x32. By type, the board carries 22 diodes, 9 switches and 2 ICs.

It belongs with the displays & leds and keyboards designs in this gallery.

A multi-purpose macropad featuring 9 customizable LED-backlit keys, 1 rotary encoder, and an OLED display. Powered by the Seeed Studio XIAO RP2040, The keys change depending on the program, but for now they are copy, paste, undo, mute, cam off, close tab, play / pause, screenshot, and most important- show Desktop :)

The schematic was designed using KiCad all peripherals (OLED, LEDs, Encoder, Matrix) fit perfectly within the 11 available GPIO pins.

Jzspad: common questions

What microcontroller does the Jzspad use?

The Jzspad is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Jzspad PCB?

The Jzspad measures 98.2 × 74.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Jzspad?

33 components, from 5 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Jzspad design files?

From the CODE-OXYY/jzspad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Jzspad design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which CODE-OXYY chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Jzspad without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
