About the Gigapad PCB

Gigapad is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by ConsciousOtter, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 68 × 86 mm, with 30 components from 6 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 10 switches, 10 LEDs, 9 diodes and 1 IC.

It belongs with the displays & leds and keyboards designs in this gallery.

From the project

A 12 key macropad that includes a rotary encoder and a 0.91 inch oled display.

Gigapad is a custom 9-key mechanical macropad built around the Seeed XIAO RP2040, featuring a rotary encoder and an OLED display. It is designed as a compact, programmable input device using QMK firmware, suitable for shortcuts, media control, and custom workflows.

Features: - Easy access to the USB-C port - Secured PCB and case using 4 M3 Screws with brass heatsets (2 on the case, 2 on the case and pcb) - Different key levels for a more ergonomic feel

Gigapad: common questions

What microcontroller does the Gigapad use?

The Gigapad is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Gigapad PCB?

The Gigapad measures 68 × 86 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Gigapad?

30 components, from 6 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Gigapad design files?

From the ConsciousOtter/Gigapad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Gigapad design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with ConsciousOtter. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Gigapad without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
