About the Blinker-Fuild PCB

Blinker-Fuild is an open source PCB design by CRG-Glen, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 35.3 × 83.5 mm, with 147 components from 10 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the 74HCT574 and NE555. By type, the board carries 64 resistors, 62 diodes, 11 capacitors, 9 ICs and 1 connector.

It belongs with the retro computing designs in this gallery.

From the project

A completely pointless addon for your 68000 CPU

Intended to sit inline with your 68000 CPU with LEDs on each signal that will light when that signal becomes active.

It's just for fun and should not to be used for any diagnostic purposes, this isn't a logic probe!

There are 8nr 74HCT574s which are sampling each pin on the rising edge of a clock generated by a 555 timer. The 555 is running at a rate of approximately 50hz so will miss a lot of activity on the 68k. There just isn't enough room to do this with any accuracy but remember this is for fun only.

Blinker-Fuild: common questions

How big is the Blinker-Fuild PCB?

The Blinker-Fuild measures 35.3 × 83.5 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Blinker-Fuild?

147 components, from 10 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Blinker-Fuild design files?

From the CRG-Glen/Blinker-Fuild repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Blinker-Fuild design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license, which CRG-Glen chose for the repository.
