About the Inspectron sao dc34 PCB

Inspectron sao dc34 is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by d4rkwyng, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 58 × 52.6 mm, with 51 components from 23 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the W25Q128JVSIQ and ME6211C33M5G-N. By type, the board carries 21 capacitors, 12 resistors, 4 switches, 3 ICs, 3 connectors and 3 LEDs.

It belongs with the wearables designs in this gallery.

From the project

INSPECTRON 34 — DEF CON 34 CRT-TV badge add-on (SAO): RP2040 meme-GIF TV with a hidden puzzle game. KiCad hardware, CircuitPython firmware, desktop simulator, puzzle site. TUNE YOUR OWN SIGNAL.

A DEF CON 34 Simple Add-On shaped like a retro CRT television that plays looping meme GIFs on a 1.14" color IPS screen as TV channels — and hides a puzzle game. Mount it as a USB drive and drag your own GIFs on. Channel buttons surf memes (with TV static between channels, obviously).

- 38 visible channels of curated TV/movie/commercial memes on a Las Vegas-style dial — CH+/CH− surf, static wipe, channel bugs - "Declassify the Broadcast Authority" — solve the case files at inspectron34.com, dial answers on the device's FREQUENCY TUNER, and hidden channels come alive: dialed unlocks, station…

Inspectron sao dc34: common questions

What microcontroller does the Inspectron sao dc34 use?

The Inspectron sao dc34 is built around the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Inspectron sao dc34 PCB?

The Inspectron sao dc34 measures 58 × 52.6 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Inspectron sao dc34?

51 components, from 23 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Inspectron sao dc34 design files?

From the d4rkwyng/inspectron-sao-dc34 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Inspectron sao dc34 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which d4rkwyng chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Inspectron sao dc34 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
