From the project

OSHW DC power supply

An open source hardware (OSHW) benchtop DC power supply designed using open source tools (WORK IN PROGRESS).

This project started as an effort to learn the ins and outs of KiCad because the author needed to learn how to do a hardware design for a prototype (not related to this project). However, this side project quickly grew into a thing of its own. It reflects the ideas and features that the author wishes for a modern benchtop DC power supply.

The KiCad project lives in the dc-power-supply/dc-power-supply repository on GitHub; these links point at the commit this page was built from.

Dc power supply: common questions

What microcontroller does the Dc power supply use?

The Dc power supply is built around the LPC4337JBD144, from the NXP family.

How big is the Dc power supply PCB?

The Dc power supply measures 130 × 265.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Dc power supply?

221 components, from 105 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Dc power supply design files?

From the dc-power-supply/dc-power-supply repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Dc power supply design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with dc-power-supply. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Dc power supply without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug NXP firmware against it before you order a PCB.
