About the Retrospector Controls PCB

Retrospector Controls is an open source PCB design by dchwebb, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 60 × 110 mm, with 32 components from 20 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the MCP6004. By type, the board carries 14 connectors, 3 diodes, 3 resistors, 1 IC and 1 capacitor.

It belongs with the audio and retro computing designs in this gallery.

From the project

Eurorack Delay Effect

Retrospector is a Eurorack format stereo digital delay.

Delay times can be set clocked or free-running and left and right channels can be independent or the right channel set as a multiple of the left channel. The delay times are switchable between short, long and reversed with maximum delay times over 5 minutes.

The feedback path can be filtered with settings allowing a sweep from low pass to high pass, or either separately. The delayed signal can be modulated for subtle chorussing effects or left and right channels fed back into each other to widen dual mono sources.

Retrospector Controls: common questions

How big is the Retrospector Controls PCB?

The Retrospector Controls measures 60 × 110 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Retrospector Controls?

32 components, from 20 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Retrospector Controls design files?

From the dchwebb/Retrospector repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Retrospector Controls design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with dchwebb. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
