From the project

Eurorack Delay Effect

Retrospector is a Eurorack format stereo digital delay.

Delay times can be set clocked or free-running and left and right channels can be independent or the right channel set as a multiple of the left channel. The delay times are switchable between short, long and reversed with maximum delay times over 5 minutes.

The feedback path can be filtered with settings allowing a sweep from low pass to high pass, or either separately. The delayed signal can be modulated for subtle chorussing effects or left and right channels fed back into each other to widen dual mono sources.

Retrospector Components: common questions

What microcontroller does the Retrospector Components use?

The Retrospector Components is built around the MCP6004, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Retrospector Components PCB?

The Retrospector Components measures 60 × 110 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Retrospector Components?

131 components, from 91 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Retrospector Components design files?

From the dchwebb/Retrospector repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Retrospector Components design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with dchwebb. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Retrospector Components without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
