About the Linky PCB

Linky is an open source STM32 PCB design by devisunofficial, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 38.5 × 41 mm, with 29 components from 18 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F103CBT6, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the AMS1117-3.3V and CH340X. By type, the board carries 11 capacitors, 10 resistors, 3 ICs, 1 crystal and 1 connector.

It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts and usb & debug tools designs in this gallery.

Linky is a dev-board using STM32 family.

Linky is a dev-board using STM32 family.

Reasons ? 1. To make ST Link To program STM32 family we need either USB to UART converter or a ST-Link. And to make a VESC, I need ST-Link. 2. Learn RTOS As someone intrested in Embedded, I need a dev-board which is capable of FreeRTOS.

- A dev-board - USB to UART on Dev board to program on board STM32 micro controller

2. Here comes the secondary objective of this project, a dev-board to learn RTOS. As I plan to pursue Embedded system, I thought this dev-board will be good place to learn RTOS. To be frank, I still don't know anything about RTOS or…

Linky: common questions

What microcontroller does the Linky use?

The Linky is built around the STM32F103CBT6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Linky PCB?

The Linky measures 38.5 × 41 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Linky?

29 components, from 18 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Linky design files?

From the devisunofficial/Linky repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Linky design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with devisunofficial. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Linky without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
