About the USBC M2E HaLow Adapter PCB

USBC M2E HaLow Adapter is an open source PCB design by Diode663, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 56.5 × 40.5 mm, with 20 components from 15 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the USBLC6-2SC6 and TPS563201DDCR. By type, the board carries 9 capacitors, 4 resistors, 2 ICs, 2 connectors, 1 diode and 1 inductor.

It belongs with the iot & wireless and power & battery designs in this gallery.

From the project

USB-C (USB 2.0) to M.2 Key-E carrier for the Gateworks GW16170 Wi-Fi HaLow card. KiCad 10, generated from Python, Rev A sent to JLCPCB.

USB 2.0 over a USB-C receptacle to an M.2 2230 Key-E socket, for the Gateworks GW16170 (Morse Micro MM8108-M20) Wi-Fi HaLow card. 56.5 x 40.5 mm, 2-layer (JLCPCB JLC0216A), single-sided assembly.

Only USB D+/D- (M.2 pins 3 and 5), 3.3 V and ground go to the card. WDISABLE1# (the card's reset) and WDISABLE2# (wake) are left open on purpose: the card has its own pull-ups, and its reset pin uses a power-on RC that an external pull-up would defeat.
