About the CMDB Adv PCB
CMDB Adv is an open source Raspberry Pi PCB design by Distaff, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 6-layer board measuring 59.7 × 78 mm, with 9 components from 9 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the 10164227-1001A1RLF, from the Raspberry Pi family.
It belongs with the robotics & motion and dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.
From the project
Source of the CM5-based drone controller used for onboard image processing, communication, and high-level automation. Originally created for IARC2026 (drone engineering competition), used in other competitions as well.
IARC HAT Provides programmable ESP32-S3, with SX-1262 for LoRa connectivity, killswitch that disables FC, and ESC/FC connectors.

CMDB Adv: common questions
What microcontroller does the CMDB Adv use?
The CMDB Adv is built around the 10164227-1001A1RLF, from the Raspberry Pi family.
How big is the CMDB Adv PCB?
The CMDB Adv measures 59.7 × 78 mm, has 6 copper layers and is 1.09336 mm thick.
How many components are on the CMDB Adv?
9 components, from 9 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the CMDB Adv design files?
From the Distaff/RPi_CM_Drone_Board repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the CMDB Adv design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which Distaff chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the CMDB Adv without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Raspberry Pi firmware against it before you order a PCB.
