About the FujiNet ADAM Devkit Mini PCB

FujiNet ADAM Devkit Mini is an open source ESP32 PCB design by djtersteegc, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 27.9 × 55.4 mm, with 36 components from 20 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-DevKitC-VE, from the ESP32 family. By type, the board carries 21 resistors, 5 diodes, 3 switches, 2 transistors, 2 connectors and 2 capacitors.

It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

There's an interactive BOM here, I find them super useful when placing the SMD parts.

I buy pretty much everthing from AliExpress suppliers with the exception of the tantalum capacitors (whatever is on clearance at Newark) and the ESP32 board (cheaper shipped from Amazon).

C2 is a bulk storage cap for the 5V input from the ADAMNet line. I speced it at 100uF, but anything from 22uF and up will probably be fine. You may not even really need it.

FujiNet ADAM Devkit Mini: common questions

What microcontroller does the FujiNet ADAM Devkit Mini use?

The FujiNet ADAM Devkit Mini is built around the ESP32-DevKitC-VE, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the FujiNet ADAM Devkit Mini PCB?

The FujiNet ADAM Devkit Mini measures 27.9 × 55.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the FujiNet ADAM Devkit Mini?

36 components, from 20 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the FujiNet ADAM Devkit Mini design files?

From the djtersteegc/fujinet-adam-hardware repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the FujiNet ADAM Devkit Mini design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which djtersteegc chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the FujiNet ADAM Devkit Mini without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
