About the UniKeyPad PCB
UniKeyPad is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by DragonzaS, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 79 × 82 mm, with 26 components from 5 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 12 switches, 12 diodes, 1 IC and 1 connector.
It belongs with the displays & leds and keyboards designs in this gallery.
From the project
Small mechanical macropad, with an rotary encoder and tiny OLED display. Can be used as a compact numpad
I made as introduction for myself to PCB design, and also can be used as minimal numberpad companion for my current TKL keyboard.
Together it fits using two 3D printed parts, that are kept together with four M3 screws and heatset inserts. (Angled stand coming soon, to have same angle as my main keyboard)
(To the reviewer: I added a simplified CAD file, without the switches, the full size one is very big!) ## PCB

UniKeyPad: common questions
What microcontroller does the UniKeyPad use?
The UniKeyPad is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.
How big is the UniKeyPad PCB?
The UniKeyPad measures 79 × 82 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the UniKeyPad?
26 components, from 5 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the UniKeyPad design files?
From the DragonzaS/UniKeyPad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the UniKeyPad design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with DragonzaS. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the UniKeyPad without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
