About the Bcflight PCB

Bcflight is an open source Raspberry Pi PCB design by dridri, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 66.3 × 40.2 mm, with 56 components from 31 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Compute_Module_4_Connectors, from the Raspberry Pi family. Other key parts include the 74LVC1G04 and ADS1115IDGS. By type, the board carries 11 capacitors, 8 resistors, 6 diodes, 3 ICs, 2 connectors and 2 antennas.

It belongs with the robotics & motion, rf & radio and sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

Raspberry Pi based drone flight controller and remote control

BCFlight is an open-source Linux-based Raspberry Pi drone and ground controller system, offering a complete solution for flight control, stabilization, and telemetry.

The project consists of three main components:

Automatically generated images based on Raspbian: - SSH : root:bcflight by default - System : Read-only by default (security) - Flight Service : Disabled by default for configuration

Bcflight: common questions

What microcontroller does the Bcflight use?

The Bcflight is built around the Compute_Module_4_Connectors, from the Raspberry Pi family.

How big is the Bcflight PCB?

The Bcflight measures 66.3 × 40.2 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Bcflight?

56 components, from 31 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Bcflight design files?

From the dridri/bcflight repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Bcflight design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which dridri chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Bcflight without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Raspberry Pi firmware against it before you order a PCB.
