About the RP2040-Pro-Micro PCB

RP2040-Pro-Micro is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by eddie-c-404, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 18 × 36.8 mm, with 34 components from 17 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the MCP1700x-330xxTT and W25Q128JVS. By type, the board carries 18 capacitors, 8 resistors, 4 connectors, 3 ICs and 1 crystal.

From the project

An open source Arduino Pro Micro but with an RP2040.

The Arduino Pro Micro is a small-form-factor, useful, and pretty cool microcontroller that's missing just one thing: some more juice!!! Unfortunately, it only runs at 16 MHz and is an 8-bit CPU. Introducing the RP2040 Pro Micro, it's just like the Arduino in every single way, but it includes some more powerful components and better specs. This project originates from a problem I had a while ago. 11-year-old me had just made his finest electronics project, A flight control stick to play flight sims on his MacBook (IDK why, but I really enjoyed those back then). He had started with an Arduino…

RP2040-Pro-Micro: common questions

What microcontroller does the RP2040-Pro-Micro use?

The RP2040-Pro-Micro is built around the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the RP2040-Pro-Micro PCB?

The RP2040-Pro-Micro measures 18 × 36.8 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the RP2040-Pro-Micro?

34 components, from 17 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the RP2040-Pro-Micro design files?

From the eddie-c-404/RP2040-Pro-Micro repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the RP2040-Pro-Micro design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with eddie-c-404. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the RP2040-Pro-Micro without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
