About the CPU PCB
CPU is an open source Raspberry Pi PCB design by eigenco, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 102.8 × 73.8 mm, with 18 components from 8 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the Raspberry_Pi_2_3, from the Raspberry Pi family. Other key parts include the 74LS688. By type, the board carries 8 resistors, 7 connectors, 1 IC and 1 capacitor.
From the project
This is an experimental project to connect Raspberry Pi with the help of cheap Cyclone IV FPGA board to 8-bit ISA bus to act as multiple different devices.
This is an experimental project to connect Raspberry Pi with the help of cheap Cyclone IV FPGA board to 8-bit ISA bus to act as multiple different devices.
What is currently implemented (to some degree), i.e. PC can access through ISA - Mass storage access from a file on the Raspberry Pi (written sectors are flushed every 2 seconds by default) - Adlib output to optical SPDIF - Sound Blaster 8-bit mono with DMA and IRQ (basic functions only), output to optical SPDIF - Gravis Ultrasound (basic wavetable only), output to optical SPDIF - Roland MT-32 (UART only), output to optical SPDIF - USB…

CPU: common questions
What microcontroller does the CPU use?
The CPU is built around the Raspberry_Pi_2_3, from the Raspberry Pi family.
How big is the CPU PCB?
The CPU measures 102.8 × 73.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the CPU?
18 components, from 8 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the CPU design files?
From the eigenco/frankenpi repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the CPU design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with eigenco. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the CPU without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Raspberry Pi firmware against it before you order a PCB.
