About the Atsamd20-breakout
Atsamd20-breakout is an open source Microchip SAM PCB design by elevendroids, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-SA-4.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 24 × 50 mm, with 33 components from 20 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ATSAMD20E18A-A, from the Microchip SAM family. By type, the board carries 13 resistors, 10 capacitors, 3 connectors, 2 crystals, 1 IC and 1 transistor.
It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.
From the project
SAM D20 / SAM D21 Breakout Board
Small breakout board designed for the SAM D20 and SAM D21 ARM Cortex-M0+ microcontrollers from Microchip
- minimal subset of components, no power regulation etc. - optional external main and real-time crystals - if not used, their GPIO pins can be connected to the user header by soldering relevant 0R resistors (see schematic) - one buffered user LED, connected to the header - no reserved GPIO - reset button - standard 0.05" pitch SWD programming header, SWD signals also present on the pin headers

Atsamd20-breakout: common questions
What microcontroller does the Atsamd20-breakout use?
The Atsamd20-breakout is built around the ATSAMD20E18A-A, from the Microchip SAM family.
How big is the Atsamd20-breakout?
The Atsamd20-breakout measures 24 × 50 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Atsamd20-breakout?
33 components, from 20 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Atsamd20-breakout design files?
From the elevendroids/atsamd20-breakout repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Atsamd20-breakout design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its CC-BY-SA-4.0 license, which elevendroids chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the Atsamd20-breakout without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Microchip SAM firmware against it before you order a PCB.
