About the Wordclock PCB
Wordclock is an open source STM32 PCB design by evanparizot, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 350 × 349.9 mm, with 315 components from 42 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the STM32F303RCTx, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the MAX7219, USBLC6-2SC6, DS3231MZ and AT24CS02-SSHM. By type, the board carries 258 diodes, 22 capacitors, 16 resistors, 9 ICs, 3 inductors and 2 crystals.
From the project
PCB schematics, code, and graphics for a custom wordclock.
This project is not a word clock based on the wikipedia definition, but rather just an aesthetic choice of representing time. Rather than showing something like a clock face or time in 12 hour / 24 hour format, a wordclock spells out the time using words. One of the more well known examples of wordclocks being produced is from the company QLOCKTWO. Unfortunately, at it's retail price of $1,500+, they can be pretty expensive.

Wordclock: common questions
What microcontroller does the Wordclock use?
The Wordclock is built around the STM32F303RCTx, from the STM32 family.
How big is the Wordclock PCB?
The Wordclock measures 350 × 349.9 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Wordclock?
315 components, from 42 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Wordclock design files?
From the evanparizot/wordclock repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Wordclock design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with evanparizot. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Wordclock without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
