About the Pico dev PCB

Pico dev is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by execuc, published on GitHub under the Custom license license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 99.1 × 76.2 mm, with 41 components from 28 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the SSD1306_I2C. By type, the board carries 21 connectors, 6 resistors, 5 capacitors, 3 switches, 2 ICs and 2 diodes.

It belongs with the usb & debug tools designs in this gallery.

USB to interfaces implementing MicroPython "machine" module functionalities on a computer.

There are some kicad projects of a PCB with some I/O but mostly headers. Caution: I am not an electronic engineer, check schematics and PCB before using it !

Zipped gerber file is available: Gerber file

There are two jumpers to wire D and E signal in case of 1/16 and 1/32 panels.

Pico dev: common questions

What microcontroller does the Pico dev use?

The Pico dev is built around the Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Pico dev PCB?

The Pico dev measures 99.1 × 76.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Pico dev?

41 components, from 28 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Pico dev design files?

From the execuc/u2if repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Pico dev design in my own project?

It is published under Custom license, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.

Can I test firmware for the Pico dev without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
