About the Omamori PCB

Omamori is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by felixmark, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 25 × 35 mm, with 34 components from 27 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATtiny85, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the BQ25504, TPS61222DCK and TS-1233. By type, the board carries 4 ICs, 1 transistor, 1 connector and 1 diode.

It belongs with the power & battery designs in this gallery.

From the project

Omamori is a solar-powered LED pendant for necklaces.

Program ATTiny 1626 via UPDI pins on the back of the PCB. Set the internal clock to 1MHz and use a low uploading BAUD to make sure the microcontroller can keep up.

Omamori: common questions

What microcontroller does the Omamori use?

The Omamori is built around the ATtiny85, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Omamori PCB?

The Omamori measures 25 × 35 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Omamori?

34 components, from 27 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Omamori design files?

From the felixmark/Omamori repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Omamori design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with felixmark. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Omamori without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
