About the Thc PCB
Thc is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by festlv, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 123.8 × 99.7 mm, with 72 components from 31 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ARDUINO_MINI_PRO, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the 4N25, LM358, CNY74-4, 7805 and ISOL_PWR. By type, the board carries 29 resistors, 12 ICs, 12 diodes, 12 capacitors, 3 connectors and 1 transistor.
From the project
An automatic torch height controller
Homebrew plasma cutter torch height controller --------------------------------------------------
Schematics, layout and code for a simple yet intelligent replacement for THC301d torch height controller.
The main difference is that this one samples cutting voltage automatically after cut is started, and then tries to keep the plasma torch at the same height.
Beware- this has only been tested for a few hours as of now, but the results seem to be as good as with THC301d (but setpoint is determined automatically).

Thc: common questions
What microcontroller does the Thc use?
The Thc is built around the ARDUINO_MINI_PRO, from the AVR/Arduino family.
How big is the Thc PCB?
The Thc measures 123.8 × 99.7 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Thc?
72 components, from 31 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Thc design files?
From the festlv/thc repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Thc design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with festlv. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Thc without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
