About the Hackpad blueprint PCB

Hackpad blueprint is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by Fleny113, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 99 × 70 mm, with 9 components from 4 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 5 switches, 2 diodes, 1 IC and 1 LED.

It belongs with the displays & leds designs in this gallery.

It has a rotary encoder for volume, 4 keys for media control with an extra one for anything that might be useful and a OLED to show information about the media.

This is my first time doing any PCB and CAD work, so hopefully there isn't a mess

Hackpad blueprint: common questions

What microcontroller does the Hackpad blueprint use?

The Hackpad blueprint is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Hackpad blueprint PCB?

The Hackpad blueprint measures 99 × 70 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Hackpad blueprint?

9 components, from 4 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Hackpad blueprint design files?

From the Fleny113/hackpad-blueprint repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Hackpad blueprint design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Fleny113. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Hackpad blueprint without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
