About the Mini devboard PCB

Mini devboard is an open source WCH CH32/CH55x PCB design by FraI3mega, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-W-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 19 × 56.4 mm, with 14 components from 9 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the CH552G, from the WCH CH32/CH55x family. By type, the board carries 5 resistors, 3 capacitors, 2 connectors, 2 diodes, 1 IC and 1 switch.

It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

A little CH552G USB devboard, for quickly testing ideas. I wanted a little board, with nice headers for quickly testing modules/ideas, as whenever i need one I can't find one. That or I don't have the correct cable (shoutout to the RPi Pico's micro usb). It will also be my first time soldering smd, so that will be fun.

Mini devboard: common questions

What microcontroller does the Mini devboard use?

The Mini devboard is built around the CH552G, from the WCH CH32/CH55x family.

How big is the Mini devboard PCB?

The Mini devboard measures 19 × 56.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1 mm thick.

How many components are on the Mini devboard?

14 components, from 9 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Mini devboard design files?

From the FraI3mega/mini-devboard repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Mini devboard design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-W-2.0 license, which FraI3mega chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Mini devboard without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug WCH CH32/CH55x firmware against it before you order a PCB.
