About the Telemetry-Macropad PCB

Telemetry-Macropad is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by freillyskis-coder, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 3.6 × 3.3 mm, with 10 components from 5 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 4 diodes, 3 switches, 2 connectors and 1 IC.

It belongs with the keyboards, displays & leds and sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

This is a place where I store all of my files for my macropad that has an accelerometer, display, and lights that will show telemetry information for racing.

- 4 x SK6812MINI-E - lights, $2.95 - 1 x XIAO RP2040 DIP - computer, $3.99 - 3 x Cherry MX Switches - switches $0.40 - 3 x DSA Black Keycaps - keycaps (10 pack) $5.80 - 4 x M3x3mm heatset inserts - inserts, $5.95 - 4 x M3x10mm screws - screws, $3.99 - My PCB, printed - My 3D printed case

I have an accelerometer and 0.96" display in my designs, but I am not requesting them as I know it they not a part of the kit. I will pay for this myself. - 1 x MPU 6050 - accelerometer, $1.45 - 1 x SSD1306 OLED - display, $2.50

Telemetry-Macropad: common questions

What microcontroller does the Telemetry-Macropad use?

The Telemetry-Macropad is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Telemetry-Macropad PCB?

The Telemetry-Macropad measures 3.6 × 3.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Telemetry-Macropad?

10 components, from 5 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Telemetry-Macropad design files?

From the freillyskis-coder/Telemetry-Macropad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Telemetry-Macropad design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with freillyskis-coder. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Telemetry-Macropad without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
