About the Hellboard PCB

Hellboard is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by frfrh, published on GitHub under the GPL-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 116.6 × 40 mm, with 22 components from 8 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RP2040-ZERO, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 8 diodes, 8 capacitors, 2 resistors, 1 IC, 1 transistor and 1 connector.

It belongs with the displays & leds and keyboards designs in this gallery.

From the project

This is a Macro board based on RP2040-zero and Micropython, meant for ordering Stratagems for Helldivers 2 by registering as a HID-Keyboard.

This is a Macro board based on RP2040-zero and Micropython, meant for ordering Stratagems for Helldivers 2 by registering as a HID-Keyboard.

Contains the firmware to be loaded into the RP2040 and the Micropython project files.

Contains the 3D files for the case and the button caps.

Contains the project files for the PCB and the gerber files to order one. Project is based on KiCad 8.0.2.

Hellboard: common questions

What microcontroller does the Hellboard use?

The Hellboard is built around the RP2040-ZERO, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Hellboard PCB?

The Hellboard measures 116.6 × 40 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Hellboard?

22 components, from 8 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Hellboard design files?

From the frfrh/Hellboard repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Hellboard design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-2.0 license, which frfrh chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Hellboard without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
