About the Mcguitarpedal PCB

Mcguitarpedal is an open source NXP PCB design by frsaba, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 123 × 113.5 mm, with 113 components from 62 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the TEENSY4.1, from the NXP family. Other key parts include the Teensy Audio Board, LM4562, STPDWN-3P-5V, AMS1117-3.3 and 74HCT595. By type, the board carries 42 resistors, 17 capacitors, 14 diodes, 12 connectors, 12 test points and 7 ICs.

It belongs with the audio and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

Teensy 4.1 custom built guitar effects pedal. Uses the Teensy Audio Library and LVGL. Custom PCB design and 3D printed enclosure

- C++ with PlatformIO - Teensy Audio Library - UI made with LVGL - 5 implemented effects (more to come): - Chorus - Flanger - Tremolo - Delay - Reverb

Each effect can be separately toggled on/off and mixed with the dry/wet parameter. The effect parameters can be adjusted to tune the sound.

Mcguitarpedal: common questions

What microcontroller does the Mcguitarpedal use?

The Mcguitarpedal is built around the TEENSY4.1, from the NXP family.

How big is the Mcguitarpedal PCB?

The Mcguitarpedal measures 123 × 113.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Mcguitarpedal?

113 components, from 62 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Mcguitarpedal design files?

From the frsaba/mcguitarpedal repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Mcguitarpedal design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with frsaba. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Mcguitarpedal without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug NXP firmware against it before you order a PCB.
