About the PCB-Demo

PCB-Demo is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by ftCornel, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 53 × 52 mm, with 11 components from 9 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Raspberry Pi Pico 2 W, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the CH340C. By type, the board carries 3 capacitors, 3 resistors, 2 diodes, 1 IC, 1 module and 1 connector.

It belongs with the usb & debug tools designs in this gallery.

From the project

One sentence in. A fab-ready circuit board out.

A small two-layer motherboard for a Raspberry Pi Pico 2 W that:

takes the Pico soldered flat onto castellated/hand-solder pads (Module:RaspberryPiPicoWSMDHandSolder), powers everything from its own USB-C receptacle (5 V in through a Schottky diode into the Pico's VSYS), exposes the Pico's UART0 (GP0/GP1) as a USB serial port on that same USB-C connector via a CH340C bridge, drives a surface-mount green LED (0603) from GP2 through a 330 R resistor.

PCB-Demo: common questions

What microcontroller does the PCB-Demo use?

The PCB-Demo is built around the Raspberry Pi Pico 2 W, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the PCB-Demo?

The PCB-Demo measures 53 × 52 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the PCB-Demo?

11 components, from 9 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the PCB-Demo design files?

From the ftCornel/PCB-Demo repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the PCB-Demo design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with ftCornel. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the PCB-Demo without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
