About the ChairGuru PCB

ChairGuru is an open source ESP32 PCB design by Fugate-A, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 100 × 100 mm, with 48 components from 34 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP-WROOM-32-N4, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the CP2102N-A02-GQFN28, BU01 and AMS1117-3.3. By type, the board carries 20 resistors, 10 capacitors, 6 diodes, 4 ICs, 4 connectors and 2 transistors.

It belongs with the iot & wireless and robotics & motion designs in this gallery.

From the project

ChairGuru - A project mainly designed for classroom teachers but has applications in all areas concerning chair management! We have designed a chair system that allows an end-user to create a layout from their computer which will then be replicated by the physical chairs as they move autonomously to their designated positions with precision!

ChairGuru: common questions

What microcontroller does the ChairGuru use?

The ChairGuru is built around the ESP-WROOM-32-N4, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the ChairGuru PCB?

The ChairGuru measures 100 × 100 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the ChairGuru?

48 components, from 34 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the ChairGuru design files?

From the Fugate-A/ChairGuru repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the ChairGuru design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Fugate-A. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the ChairGuru without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
